INTAKE — PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what Intake ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and who we
share it with. Intake is published by Bluetrail. Questions: support@bluetrail.app.


INFORMATION WE COLLECT

• Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an email address (or
  Apple relay address) to create and secure your account.

• Health data (Apple Health). With your permission, we read your resting and active
  energy from Apple Health to calculate your daily calorie budget. Access is
  read-only. See the Apple Health section below.

• Nutrition and goals you enter. Foods you log (name, portion, calories, macros),
  your targets, and body-weight goals.

• Meal descriptions. When you use AI logging, the text you type is sent to our AI
  provider to estimate the foods and nutrition. See "How we share information".

• Subscription status. If you subscribe to Intake Pro, Apple processes the payment;
  we receive and store your subscription status and transaction identifiers. We
  never receive your card or payment details.

• Usage and diagnostics. On installs from the App Store or TestFlight, we collect
  app usage (screens viewed, features used), basic device and app information, a
  randomly generated analytics identifier, and crash/error reports to keep the app
  working and improve it.

We do not collect your photos, contacts, or precise location, and we do not use
tracking for advertising.


HOW WE USE INFORMATION

• Provide the app: calculate your budget, save your logs, sync across sessions.
• Operate subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Understand usage and fix crashes so we can improve the app.


APPLE HEALTH (HEALTHKIT)

We use Apple Health data ONLY to calculate your calorie budget inside the app. We do
NOT use Health data for advertising or marketing, we do NOT sell it, and we do NOT
share it with any third party. Our access is read-only, and you can revoke it any
time in the Health app.


HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers
that help us run the app, under agreements that limit their use of it:

• Supabase — hosts our database and authentication (your account and logs).
• PostHog — product analytics and crash/error reporting.
• Apple — sign-in and in-app purchases.
• Google — sign-in (if you choose it).
• OpenRouter — processes the meal descriptions you submit to AI logging to estimate
  nutrition.
• Open Food Facts — the public food database used for search and barcode lookups
  (your search terms are sent to look up foods).

We may also disclose information if required by law.


DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

We keep your account and logs until you delete them. You can delete your account and
associated data from within the app (Settings), or by emailing support@bluetrail.app.
Deletion is permanent.


SECURITY

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to your account
and to the service providers listed above.


CHILDREN

Intake is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data
from them.


INTERNATIONAL USERS

Our providers store and process data in the United States. By using the app you
consent to this processing.


CHANGES

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated"
date above.
